Phan Nhứt Dũng

Mr. Phan Nhut Dung was born into a family with a heritage deeply rooted in Southern ceremonial music at Cần Đước, Long An, a province in the Mekong Delta Rive region of Vietnam. At the age of 13, he began learning music with his family, guided by his father, uncle, and paternal relatives.

Throughout his 47-year artistic journey and involvement in traditional music , Mr. Dung has actively participated in Folk Music and Experimental Stage Programs, highly praised by colleagues. He has also taught at the University of the Theatre and Film and various Cultural Institutes.

Since 2003, as Head of the Folk Music – Traditional Theatre Club at the Labour Cultural Centre in Ho Chi Minh city, Mr. Phan has organised 40 courses and 6 Folk Music- Traditional Theatre festivals. Additionally, he has also been an active musician, performing and leading student performances internationally such as Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany (1997-1999), Italy (2006), France (2000-2007), Cambodia (2013).
