In a world where so much is discarded, Fragments of Dreams offers a different vision: a celebration of renewal, nature, and the beauty of forgotten things. This exhibition breathes new life into broken objects, embracing sustainability, recycling, and zero waste principles, while inviting nature into our living spaces.
Fragments
Damaged and unused items are lovingly transformed into new decorations through simple origami folding and crocheting techniques, using only leftover gift wrap paper, scrap yarn, and reclaimed natural elements like decayed wood, moss, and lichen. Every piece is made with a mindful, low-impact approach, no waste, only rebirth. The crane, a recurring origami figure, symbolizes dreams taking flight, carrying fragments of hope from our inner worlds into reality.
Dreams
Twelve paintings of sleeping girls, female characters from the novel AlefA, accompany the installation. Created in both digital and watercolor mediums, each portrait is set among delicate flowers and soft color palettes. These colors harmonize with the origami and crocheted works, tying the exhibition together. The girls emerge from faint, dreamlike sketches into sharper forms, echoing how dreams shift from intangible illusions to vivid experiences.
Fragments of Dreams is an invitation: to see beauty in what once seemed broken, to honor nature within our homes, and to believe in second chances, for objects, dreams, and ourselves.

Obs! Fragile captures the fleeting beauty of spring – those luminous, fragile moments when nature is in full bloom yet passes all too quickly. Using a unique technique that blends the precision of botanical illustration with the freedom of contemporary watercolor, each painting becomes a quiet celebration of nature’s most elegant season.
The exhibition is presented by Olga Koelsch – a watercolor artist, author, and instructor based in Bergen. Olga represents Norway in the Nordic Watercolor Society (NAS) and is a Resident Artist at Arches as well as an ambassador for Princeton Brush, Maimeri, Canson, and Daler-Rowney.
